Madie got me good last week one night when Jason was flying. After wresting two wet babies out of the bathtub and attempting to get lotion on them Madie, who was not cooperating, decided that streaking through the upstairs would be much more fun. When I asked her if she could turn on her listening ears and come sit on the towel for some lotion, she turned her head, smirked, and stated "Mama, listening ears hiding!" Then off she ran. Of course I was surprised and humored. When I asked her if she could look for her listening ears, she began looking everywhere, but stated "can't find mama." Needless to say, we've been laughing about this since. She is definitely the one who is going to test her limits. Our sweet Sam is much more methodical in his activities and enjoys the one on one time he gets with us. He chooses not to listen when it comes to tormenting his sister, but otherwise he is pretty chill. This weekend we baked cookies, which he really enjoyed. He sat up on the counter and poured the ingredients in, while Madie cooked in "her kitchen" because she doesn't like the sound the mixer makes. After a day of prodding, he finally tried the cookies, which he liked. Trying new things is a big step lately in this house! Enjoy some pictures from this month.

Happy Valentine's Day!
February has brought snow and more snow, which is unusual for Virginia. We had a Super Bowl party and the kids did great. They enjoyed playing with Avery & Oliver and getting some extra attention from our guests. We had a fun Valentine's Day making cookies and enjoying some gifts from the grandparents. Sam & Madie's vocabulary is exploding and we enjoy the new things they say each day. They are also both counting 1-10 and identifying their ABC's.
