Candy Canes

Yesterday upon return from preschool Sam & Madie were very upset. It seems Santa Claus visited the preschool yesterday and brought them candy canes. But Sam & Madie misplaced their candy canes and were very distraught. They wanted Joan to go back to the preschool so they could look for them. After a (fake) phone call to Sam & Madie's teacher (by Jason - who was home from work early sicker than a dog) asking Ms. Julie if she located their candy canes and an elaborate story (and a text message to Mom to pick up 2 candy canes ASAP) that Santa would be delivering them to Mom's office this afternoon. Wouldn't you know it, the minute I opened the door, Sam & Madie were at my feet asking if Santa dropped off their candy canes at my office. Luckily, I had two candy canes in my purse waiting for them (thanks Sharon & Andrea - our office receptionists - who just happened to have candy canes in the office for the upcoming holiday party). The joy and pure innocence is so sweet.
